Key features include a longitudinal worktable travel controlled steplessly by a hydraulic system or handwheel. The wheelhead infeed utilizes a hydraulic automatic periodic feed mechanism, complemented by manual handwheel control. For operational efficiency, the rapid approach, withdrawal of the wheelhead, retracting of the tailstock center, and lubrication of the slideway and lead-screw are all hydraulically managed.
